Rants and Raves

RANTS:

Cilantro: Although it may be just a preference, to me, cilantro doesn’t taste edible. To this day, I despise it with lots of passion. Whenever I receive food with cilantro, I try to pick out as much as I can or else it ruins whatever I’m eating it with. Cilantro is hard to avoid because it comes in such a variety of dishes. I’m the only one who dislikes cilantro, literally; even my rabbit loves cilantro. When people ask me what cilantro tastes like, it’s hard to give a clear answer.

Hangnails: Hangnails are so irresistibly annoying. They are those irritating, jagged bits of skin that protrude from the sides of the fingernail. In the best cases, they go away after a few days. Most of the time, however, they choose to sit on the skin surrounding my nails for what seems like an eternity. It’s so tempting to pull at them, but from experience, not only would it result in bleeding, but it would also take longer to heal. Bummer.

Dust: Not only is dust bothersome, it is inevitable. Whenever I wipe down any surface, it becomes cloudy again only after a few hours. As soon as I leave an item in my home alone for a little while, dust starts to build up on it. Even if I try to clean it up, there will always be dust lurking around somewhere not within sight. Besides being hard to clean, dust can make people sick when they breathe it in. Dusting is pointless because dust is everywhere, floating around in the air, settling on almost every surface.

RAVES:

Boba: The sweet refreshing drink with chewy tapioca pearls that would satisfy my taste buds, any day of the week. Boba tastes amazing; whether added in fruit or milk teas, or even blended in a smoothie; every way boba is consumed tastes splendid. I adore how there is such a large variety, and I love how people can get creative with customizing their own drink. My favorite toppings to put in a milk tea base is honey boba, a black sugar drizzle, and a sweet cream foam on top. I prefer authentic milk tea over fruit tea, though fruit tea with boba isn’t all that bad either.

Popsockets: Having a popsocket makes it way more convenient for me to use my phone. Holding onto a popsocket gives me a better grip so I won’t have to worry about dropping my phone when texting, taking pictures, etc. It is such a habit now that when I hold someone else’s phone without a popsocket, it feels like something is missing. Popsockets have a variety of uses; you can use them as a phone stand or a fidget tool. I received my first popsocket back in elementary school, and since then, I never had a phone without one.

Sleep: You know that you are growing up when sleep is a reward, not a punishment. Although it may seem obvious, sleeping makes me feel relaxed and comfortable after a long day. Sleeping is so peaceful, and it is just what I need in order to wind down and destress. I used to take sleep for granted, but now I try to take naps whenever I have the chance. In addition, sleep is usually the cure to all problems: both physical and emotional. Waking up after having a good rest makes me feel even more refreshed than before, and I tend to focus a lot better.
