“Logan is friendly, hard-working, and borderline crazy,” says Sandy Gottfried, a senior and one of Logan’s closest friends. Logan Lim is a senior at Wilcox High School and a prominent member of important student bodies such as the Senior Council and Wilcox Stage Company (WSC).
Logan has a wide range of hobbies including reading, writing (recreationally), and playing video games such as Minecraft. He takes particular interest in computers, theatre, sci-fi, and fantasy. He also enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons (D & D), although he often doesn’t have enough time due to being busy with extracurricular commitments. Logan is also interested in website design—he’s created his own website before, though he admits that it’s not his best work. Logan also loves learning about cars and wants to learn how to service and modify vehicles one day.
Logan is currently one of two publicists on Senior Council. His job mainly consists of creating and updating posts for the Wilcox 2024 Instagram account. He helps in creating most of the Homecoming and Fantastics events, including for dances, games, floats, banners, and skits. Additionally, Logan designed sound and audio for this year’s Senior Skit, as well as writing and directing alongside Rosie Chen, one of the vice presidents. “Logan shows his drive and school spirit as the senior class council publicist,” Rosie says. “[He] embodies what it means to be charger strong by going above and beyond in every subject he decides to tackle.”
Logan is also a prominent member of Wilcox Stage Company (WSC). He has been doing theatre since his freshman year, when he took Theatre I as one of his electives. Because this was during the pandemic, Logan took Theatre I online and learned some skills in video editing. In WSC, he has worked as a sound designer, lighting designer, microphone technician, and stage manager. He also has done lighting and tech work for Roberta Jones Junior Theatre for the city of Santa Clara. All of these factors and more help to make up his impressive theatre resume. When asked to describe theatre, Logan responded, “It’s a really fun experience, if sometimes a heavy load, but it’s enjoyable—I highly recommend anyone to audition for the shows next year, or just to come support us by watching the show!”
In terms of college, Logan has already applied to and has been accepted to Swarthmore College on Early Decision. While he’s still contemplating what he wants to study, he’s leaning towards majoring in chemistry or chemical engineering. If he has the time, he would also like to pursue theatre, which he might double-major in. Specifically, he would like to focus on theatrical design, not performing, although acting is a requirement as part of the major. As far as extracurriculars go, Logan wants to participate in PsiPhi, a sci-fi/fantasy club at the school. Besides that, Logan is considering participating in intramural sports. He’s looking forward to living in an entirely new place and climate with many new people. Unfortunately, since Swarthmore is located in Pennsylvania, Logan is disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to come watch any of WSC’s performances during the school year.
When asked about his friendship with Logan, Sandy had only good things to say about him: “Whether we’re playing Monopoly with a twenty-sided die, designing the lights and sound for Wilcox Stage Company’s shows, or writing down and attributing the out-of-pocket things our teachers say, Logan is smart, kind, and uniquely funny. I’ve enjoyed growing more insane with him over the course of our decade-long friendship.”
