Augment Your Reality With Hololens

The Microsoft Hololens was previewed early last year and has since been improved to make it one of the cooler things that came out this year. The new Hololens, with the right hardware and software is able to create a fully interactable hologram of a person who may be in a different city, or even a different state, as long as both ends are able to maintain a relatively strong internet connection. To be able to recreate the hologram, both rooms would need to be heavily modified with the proper sensors and other technology to have the hologram work properly. You can still have fun with the augmented reality of the Hololens, even if you can’t get a working hologram.

Being an augmented reality device, you can use it to improve daily tasks and other things, like fixing a car or building something. It can assist in these tasks by point out where certain parts need to go, or having the directions right in front of your eyes while building the item. If this technology was developed a bit more, it could also prove useful to construction workers as it could tell them what they have to put and where. The Hololens has a plethora of sensors that capture your surroundings and provides information about it. The sensors could also help it recognize potential dangers in the vicinity, or any other information that the user wants projected on it.

As promising as this all sounds, there are still issues that have to be ironed out. There is a developer’s kit that is priced at 3,000 dollars and is set to ship on March 30th of this year. The Hololens has generated quite a bit of hype after people saw the kinds of things that it could do and if Microsoft can do more improve the quality and software of the Hololens by the time the consumer version is released, it’ll definitely help Microsoft, financially as well as in the eyes of the people and other companies.
