During this time of quarantine and isolation, you probably have a lot of time on your hands. One way to pass this time is in the kitchen so here is a fun, delicious recipe to try.

Snickerdoodles are warm cinnamon cookies with crisp outer edges and chewy middles. Here is how to achieve that perfect flavor:

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened

1 1⁄2 cups sugar

2 large eggs

2 3⁄4 cups     flour

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1⁄4 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons sugar

3 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix softened butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1tps of vanilla extract, and eggs thoroughly in a large bowl.
  3. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Blend dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  5. Chill dough, and chill an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes in the fridge.
  6. Meanwhile, mix 3 tablespoons sugar, and 3 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Scoop 1-inch dollops of dough into the sugar/ cinnamon mixture.
  8. Coat by gently rolling balls of dough in the sugar mixture.
  9. Place on a chilled ungreased cookie sheet, and bake for 10 minutes.
  10. Remove from the pan immediately.

My Notes:

* I halved the recipe and it made about 20 cookies

* I found no need in chilling the cookie sheet because it warmed up while I put the cookies on it anyway

* I added a little bit of cinnamon into the cookie dough itself which tasted really good
