Vitalize Yourself at Vitality Bowl

As I enter Vitality Bowls, I am greeted by the sound of quiet music and people chatting gleefully. The superfood café, located in Cupertino, is small and cozy with big windows that fill the café with golden sunlight. Posters line the walls informing me about superfoods like Pitaya and Acerola. Many people fill up tables both inside the building and outdoor.

This café is located at 19700 Vallco Parkway in Cupertino. Vitality Bowls provides people with tasty, nutritional superfoods, and specializes in Acai Bowls. Superfoods are nutrient-rich foods that are especially beneficial to your health. When asked what he likes the most about Vitality Bowl, an employee said that it was, “Being able to provide healthy food to the community and inform people about healthy food options.” According to its website, Vitality Bowls uses “only the freshest ingredients, all smoothies and bowls are made without fillers such as ice, frozen yogurt, added sugar, or artificial preservatives and are packed with vitamins and minerals.” Vitality Bowl also prides itself in “creating unique flavor combinations that are great for your body as well as your taste buds.”

The main thing that is sold at Vitality Bowls are the Acai Bowls. There are ten of these bowls on the menu and they consist of a thick blend of acai berries topped with granola, fruits, and other superfoods served in a stylish metal bowl. The “acai base blend” tastes like what I would describe as a thick smoothie. First timer Hannah Warner said that “the Vitality Bowl’s base tastes like a smoothie that has a unique flavor and is balanced out by the strawberry and banana on the top. The dried goji berries and granola add a fun crunch.” I tried the Tropical Bowl and it was delicious. The most popular Acai Bowl is the Dragon Bowl. Its base is a blend of pitaya, mango juice, coconut milk, and several other fruits topped with strawberry, kiwi, almonds, goji berries, honey and even bee pollen. Any of these bowls can be enjoyed as just a snack, or even a meal. While the acai bowls are extremely delectable, the price is a bit of a drawback. Depending on which bowl and what size you order, the bowls can cost between ten and fourteen dollars each.

The Acai Bowls are not the only thing sold at Vitality Bowls, however. The menu also offers a wide variety of smoothies, Paninis, fresh juices, and even has a kids menu. The Dragon smoothie contains pitaya, guava juice, strawberry, mango, raspberry, which give the drink a vibrant pink color. Warner says that “The Dragon Smoothie has a strong fruity flavor with an undertone of an earthy flavor.” During my Vitality Bowl visit I tried both The Dragon Smoothie and The Acai Elixir. Both of these drinks had unique flavors that were not too sweet and somewhat reminded me of the types of drinks that are sold at Nekter Juice Bar, or like a sugarless Jamba Juice.

The word vitality means energy or being strong and active and I feel that the food and drinks at Vitality Bowls really reflect this. After eating here, I felt light and energized in a way that I do not think you experience from unhealthy foods. There is even Wi-Fi and a to-go option which is really convenient. Despite having high prices, the nutritious food at Vitality Bowls is definitely worth it. I would recommend this café to anyone who likes fresh, fruity flavors. Whether you are trying to be healthy or not, Vitality Bowl is a great place to visit to get something enjoyable and sweet to eat.
