Wool in Aisle Nine
A simple grocery run in Bavaria, Germany became out of the ordinary after 50 sheep wandered into a local supermarket after breaking away from their herd. However, instead of causing chaos, the sheep were surprisingly calm. The sheep slowly roamed around the store while confused shoppers watched. The herd knocked over displays, sniffed packaged goods, and were very invested in the checkout area, where several of them lingered for over 20 minutes.
Employees tried to guide the sheep back outside while customers filmed the unusual scene on their phones. The animals eventually left the store on their own, apparently deciding that groceries weren’t worth the effort. While nobody was injured, the store was left with a mess of toppled products, and a very interesting story to tell future shoppers.
An Unwelcome Houseguest
In an LA neighborhood, one homeowner found out that they had a very large and stubborn houseguest, a black bear living in the crawl space beneath their house. The bear refused to leave for weeks, despite many attempts by wildlife officials to coax it out. Traps, noise, and other methods all failed to move the bear.
The homeowners grew increasingly frustrated and decided to try a more symbolic approach, placing an “unwelcome” mat outside the house in order to stop the bear from returning. Unsurprisingly, the bear ignored the message. Thankfully, officials eventually resolved the situation using professional methods.
Monster Under the Bed (Literally?)
A babysitter attempting to calm a frightened child made a discovery straight out of a horror movie. When checking under the bed to prove there were no monsters hiding there, the babysitter instead came face-to-face with a real man hiding under the bed. The man instantly fled the home once he was discovered, which sent both the babysitter and the child into shock.
Police later located and arrested the man, though authorities have not released details explaining how or why he ended up hiding under a child’s bed. While the child was unharmed, the incident has left many parents worried about the validity of a child’s intuition and bedtime warnings. For once, the fear of something lurking in the dark wasn’t something out of imagination, but it was the reality.
